Prezi!!

After seeing an article recently in a magazine (Grazia, I think) for a new presentation programme – I thought I would check it out! Prezi is a Hungarian software company who have produced a software tool which allows users to make and present a virtual story from ideas, photos and even videos. Prezi also allows many users to collaborate on the same project at the same time and is great for making CV’s and resumes stand out.

I played around with it and made the following mock-up just to see what it could do. Unfortunately, I’ve found it near impossible to add the actual Prezi into a blog post so you need to view through a link instead! If anyone knows of a way to add it to a post – please let me know.

Check out my Prezi here;

Enjoy

2013 #thebestyear!

2013 picframe

When I reminisce over the past year, I can honestly say that I have no regrets what so ever. 2013 has taught me that good things really do come to those who wait.

To my complete surprise, 2013 brought with it great fortune and some great life-changing opportunities – this year has been one of the best years if not the best year of my life….

  • I ticked 5 things off my bucket list for life.
  • I started this blog.
  • I went to 7 concerts/gigs.
  • I attended 2 Festivals.
  • I escaped to London for a weekend break.
  • I won a holiday to Zante, Greece in a magazine competition.
  • I have worked in 4 different jobs!
  • I was asked to be chief bridesmaid for one of my best friends who got engaged.
  • I have had countless nights out, making new friends and memories.

Can’t wait to see what 2014 brings with it.

I hope 2014 brings you everything you wish for and more…

Lots of Love

It pays to be nice!

We have all witnessed rude behaviour at one time or another. Having worked in the retail environment for over 8 years, I have experienced it first-hand on many occasions. Thus, I can completely understand why French café; La Petite Syrah have implemented a clever payment system which encourages pleasant behaviour from their customers by charging rude customers extra.

rude behaviourvia

Reports show that the system which started out as a joke has been met with a positive response, leading to a more relaxed atmosphere and in turn, more relaxed customers.

I think this is an ingenious idea, which could be applied to other businesses to deter rude and offensive behaviour.

Jog on!

After the copious amounts of food and drink that have been consumed during the Christmas period, January usually brings with it a welcome sigh of relief and a plethora of diets, detoxes and fitness regimes. Normally, I am one of the people who recoil at the thought of exercise – however, looking at some of the active wear currently on the market, I feel compelled to get off the couch and gett on my running shoes. Who would have known that sports clothing could be so motivating?!

It’s just a shame that some of them come with a pretty hefty price tag!!

Converse Isolda collaborationvia

Converse have hooked up with Brazilian fashion label – Isolda to create a vibrant, tropical footwear collection heavily inspired by elements of Brazil’s vivacious culture including guavas, lobsters and octopus. I can’t wait to get my hands on a pair of these beauties!

Oh snap!!

camera

A new camera is at the top of my wish list but with all the various reviews online, my head hurts!

All I want to do with this camera is to be able to take super sharp, great quality pictures and I would like a decent variety of creative filters too!

At the moment, all I have is a compact digital camera but I would really like either a bridge/DSLR camera.

Any ideas/suggestions would be great!!

Thanks

Enchanted ..

This weekend I took a trip to Pitlochry in the North of Scotland to visit the breath-taking Enchanted Forest which attracts over 30,000 visitors to the area and looks like something straight out of a fairy-tale.

Set against the stunning backdrop of the Faskally Woods, this magical event lasts from the 4th – 27th October and was named Best Cultural Event at the 2013 Scottish Event Awards! As well as being run solely by volunteers, all the profits from the event are ploughed straight back into planning and executing next year’s show… Inspiring!

This year’s show; Absorb, which is the 12th  consecutive show, gets its name as it incorporates orb like shapes and lighting effects which feature heavily all around the event including in the mini shows. Also featured in this years show is a beautiful bridge completely lit up with shimmering lights which can be seen from various points along the route. As well as having on site facilities such as heated portable toilets and stalls selling hot chocolate, mulled wine and hotdogs – there are also storytelling yurts and lit up balloons available for the kids!

Not only an innovative concept but an inspiring attraction which is well worth a visit.       I thoroughly enjoyed it and can’t wait to see what next years show will bring.
